    Run 6.1 miles

And an hour of solo tennis in the evening.

    But that was yesterday!

I was woken this morning by cramp in my calf. Hardly slept at all this week just cos of stuff to do. But it's all good. JAMMIN! B)

Too sweepy to run today probably.

Hopefully get some nice runs next week in London, Along The Mall and Birdgage Walk. I've wanted to run along there for a while. It's pleasant, romantic, and much flatter than up here lol.

    Good Morning........ :o :.

  • still here

Hm, lost track of things a little bit here havent I. Well since I lastr posted I think I have had 2 days of my normal hilly 6.1 mile course. And I bashed the tennis balls of the wall for 90 minutes tonight.

The climate has returned to it's typically damp complexion. Not Ideal for playng tennis as the grass becomes slippy.

Ok my dear lurkers, I wont be saying anything incomprehensively random tonight!

    Goodnight.

  • Shopping Bag

    Run 6.1 miles

And 90 minutes of ball bashing!

    Cold, showery, windy. 7c.

    No exercise yesterday.

Well I should write something faintly intelligible on this blog shouldnt I. At least, sometimes.

    Esssss Ohhhhh Veeeeee B)

Tonight I was looking on Next's site for an Accross The Shoulder bag. Alas, to little avail. Just an abundance of fake Stella Prada and Miss Sixty.

I dont like BAGS!!! I mean handbags.. tote bags.. and these up in the armpit bags all the ladeeez have at the moment. Is bollocks mate.. Just want to wear what I want to wear. Not feel groomed by the greedy to conform to the predetermined parameters of fashion.

Whatever happened to capitalism being the civil agency of choice and individuality?!

Back to bags.... At risk of sounding the serially-offended feminist, I just dont get this baggish cultural imposition.

Dont get me wrong. I know there are lotsa girls out there who are mad about their bags and their shoes. And I'm happy for those girls! I'd happily go shopping with them to to hunt for the elusive dream-baggily! The shoe fit for Judy Garland's ascension into girly-heaven!!! But just doesnt suit me really.

Yeppers, Me and Missus Baggers, have never quite hit it off. It's handbags at twenty paces!

To illustrate this, one embarressing incident occured 4 years ago in a cafe in Somerset. I was with a girlfriend at the time.

I took the service tray laden with lunch over to our table, and yep, the bag on my shoulder slipped off and it was coffee and eggs and bagels all over the ship, and me included. Woe betide. What a numpty was I! But but but WHY did she have to have baked beans that day?!?!? Eeewww

Creppe-munchers are safer to be around! Nice crumpet innit.

Anyways If I cant get an accross the shoulder bag i'll just get a laptop bag for my new notebook and that'll suffice.

This is me parked on my bed just now with the new kit.

For years really, I've conducted all my internet activities on high end mobile phones. My blog, youtube, music, myspace, amazon, ebay, email, etc.

Mobile phones in themselves can seem pretty boring. But there is some handy applications and freeware out there that can be installed onto your phone over the air. These tools can significantly enhance the capabilities of say a typical Symbian 60 OS based Nokia, Samsung, or Sony Ericcsson. (Some Sony Ericsson models run Microsoft Windows Mobile 2003 OS. Whilst it's a superficially pretty interface, it's has limited expandability compared to Symbian).

In Particular, web browsers such as Opera 8.65 and Netfront 3.3 which provide pretty real internet experience.

So why have I retreated to my inner-luddite by purchasing a laptop? Why the backward step?

Well I got some projects and tasks to work on that are just going to be a bit too awkward to perform, even for my trusty mobile phone.

However I didnt totally submit to the ubiquitous kit of stone-age businessman... ie: the 17" ten ton laptop!

I picked up a 12" Acer in Tesco for 450 quid. Short of a PDA, that's as compact as they come.

The smaller the machine, the more you'll pay for speed and capacity.

I dont have a phone line. So I'm using my Nokia as a modem, via a bluetooth adapter. It took a wee while to configure as i've never used Vista before, but after a few hours, Voila!

Obviously using GPRS is pretty slow. But it'll do in the short term, until I got a chance to look into some landline broadband packages.

    Goodnight.

Things havent went strictly to plan. For example, no cycling recently. No third session. But hey, it's not bad really. Compared to the condition I was in a year ago. :.

I see there are a small and consistent number of people reading this blog. Why? I say nothing. It's very dull. Because it's only meant to be a fitness diary though. So if I confuse you maybe you'll lose interest and go away.

  • I'm A Fruitcake

    Run 6.1 miles

    No run yesterday.

Overcast and clammy today, about 17c.

It is nice to go running without having to dress like an arctic explorer! However I felt too clammy and heavy to do interval training.

By the time I get home I look like a fruitcake! Noooo.......... Not in THAT way lol, but because all these flying insects are dotted all around my face.

Late this evening I hit some tennis balls off the pebble-dash wall for an hour.

    Goodnight.

  • Keep Up

    Run 6.1 miles Today
    Run 8.0 miles Yesterday

Those are the two most recent runs.

I ought to keep up posting on this blog.

Yesterday was 18c/64f. I was boiling. I turned back and changed into that Camisole.

Pale Celtic complextion I have. Which burns easily.. In a matter of minutes really. So how does one reach to apply sun-block to ones back? My back turned red.
